John Scarborough is a Senior Partner at OTG Consulting with over 20 years of executive leadership experience. John has built, scaled, and advised organizations across telecommunications, technology, construction and education, consistently driving growth, innovation, and measurable business outcomes.
John has held the Chief Marketing Officer roles at Fortune 500 companies including Qwest Communications and EchoStar / DISH Network, where he led large-scale go-to-market strategies, digital transformation initiatives, and revenue acceleration programs. He also served as CMO of MegaPath Communications, where he played a key role in scaling the business following the successful acquisition of IP5280 Communications, a company he co-founded and built with Jeffrey Pearl.
As an entrepreneur, John has founded four companies, including IP5280 Communications, which was successfully sold to MegaPath, and Silicon STEM Academy, now Colorado’s largest STEM summer camp. Through Silicon STEM Academy, John has personally taught more than 1,000 students how to code, reinforcing his commitment to developing the next generation of technologists.
John’s experience spans the evolution of modern technology, having been directly involved in the commercialization and scaling of early Internet, VoIP, HDTV, and digital media platforms. Today, his focus has expanded into artificial intelligence and its impact on business transformation, workforce productivity, and organizational design.
He holds an AI certification from the University of Denver, where he developed practical expertise in AI workflow integration, automation, and real-world business applications. John is ProSci certified in Change Management and combines his technical foundation with executive leadership experience to help organizations navigate the opportunities and risks of AI adoption.
John holds an MBA in Marketing from The George Washington University and a BA in Business and Economics from the University of Richmond.
